Cultural DaysEvery term the students will participate in a college cultural activity based on different themes within the curriculum. This will involve suspension of normal lessons and may include guest performers, speakers and different activities. Students and staff are encouraged to come to school in costumes relating to the theme.
Cultural EventsRiverside is a Christian non-denominational college so in order to respect the various traditions and family understandings regarding religious celebrations we will present the Biblical view in every case. Easter will remain about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our redemption and Christmas about the events surrounding the birth of Jesus. Families are free to celebrate these and other occasions according to their custom. National and local cultural events are participated in enthusiastically with students entering into many community events and celebrations Overseas TripsIt is the practice of Riverside to undertake overseas excursions for educational, cultural and service purposes. Recent Riverside trips have included trips to Japan and Fiji. Overseas excursions may be organised solely by Riverside or as part of a shared experience with other Educational or recognised Ministry providers. |
