Middle School nurtures and supports students in their search for growth and identity, providing a smooth transition from primary to secondary education.

Adolescent students have unique needs as they are not young primary children, nor do they have the same interests of older secondary students.

Why Middle School?

Middle School is designed to engage adolescent learners through:

  • strong pastoral Christian environment
  • practical and real-life learning
  • integrated and meaningful contexts of learning
  • involvement in decision making and learning to take responsibility
  • providing creative opportunities for students to expand their skill base; and
  • development of important and influential role models and peer groups.

Teachers in Middle School:

  • Year 7 students are taught by their Core teacher for all of their Core subjects, and interact with a limited number of specialist teachers.
  • Years 8 & 9 students are taught by 2 Core Teachers for the Core Subjects of Maths/Science and English/Social Studies and have Specialist teachers for Technologies, Arts and HPE (Health and Physical Education).
