ChaplainThe College chaplain is an integral part of the College team and strengthens the partnership we have as a community.

Riverside Chaplain, Mr Mark Bryant, has been engaged in conjunction with the National School Chaplaincy Program, funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training.
This voluntary program for students and members of the wider College community provides general religious and personal advice to those seeking it, comfort and support to students and staff, and supports the students and staff to create an environment of cooperation and respect promoting an understanding of diversity and the range of religious affiliations and their traditions.  The key task of our Chaplain is to assist staff in the delivery of student welfare services, support students to explore their spirituality, provide guidance about spiritual, values and ethical matters and facilitate access to the helping agencies in the community, both religious-based and secular.

Message from the Chaplain

"Let me say it is an honour to be here at Riverside, and I know without a doubt that this is where God wants me to be.  I’m grateful to the government for their funding and for the school that has provided financial assistance as well.

This is new and uncharted waters for me, and in some ways for the school as well.  I will be working with staff members to implement a new curriculum and vision for our Life and Living classes, which will be taking a more “hands on” approach.  Our chapel services will be adjusted to include more people from the local area, and also to utilise the amazing talents we have within the school.  I’m hoping to be involved in as many camps and outings as possible with the kids here, and to become a “Perma-Ace” on the handball court (just gotta get used to all the ‘new’ rules).

The task here is challenging, but I know that God has me here for a purpose.  I look forward to undertaking this journey of discovery for all involved, that we here at Riverside Christian College may receive, believe, and achieve God’s vision for us."

Warmest regards,
Mark Bryant
