The primary purpose for assessment is to improve learning.

A variety of assessment tools and techniques are used to allow learners to demonstrate their understandings.

Learners themselves are involved in the assessment process, which in and of itself may form a learning experience.

Assessment is fair, free from bias and inclusive of all learners.  Judgement of levels of assessment is done equably through moderated consultation to provide consistency and maintain standards.

All students are assessed upon enrolment to identify their particular learning needs. This is done largely through the use of standardised tests.

Queensland students participate in the Year 2 Net and the Years 3, 5 and 7 Tests, and these results will be released when they become available.

Individual classes will have their own class tests etc. as part of their learning programs.

In Middle and Senior Schools assessment schedules are issued by each subject teacher at the beginning of each term to inform students of the dates when assessment items are due.
