We’ve been playing futsal (5-a-side soccer) at Riverside for about eight years now.
Futsal gets players more involved in the game, with more touches and emphasis on ball skills and decision-making that the large-field game.

Riverside has a social internal league (with divisions in Year 4-6, 7-8 and 9-12) on Wednesday afternoons run and refereed by staff.  It’s proven pretty popular (~100 students) as the emphasis is on fun and developing skills – playing properly refereed games without any pressure.

Riversiders also play in local leagues – currently our middle school girls are regulars at the Hervey Bay PCYC.

Whilst we’re relaxed in our approach, we’ve quite a few Queensland and Australia representatives and consistently participate in regional trials.
